Whether you quilt on a sewing machine, HQ Sweet Sixteen or a longarm, the basic elements of creating a feather are the same.   Learn how to draw and stitch feathers by several different paths; then, add fills and adjust feathers to a variety of geometric spaces.   Add class to any quilt with these classic, charming and beloved designs.  New quilters to advanced quilters will benefit from this class.

1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.                       3 Bs - Backgrounds, Borders and Blocks
Every quilt has one or more of these elements.  Learn to enhance each area by adding texture and fluidity to your quilting with a few simple skills.  Drawing designs, combining simple designs to create borders and sashings, re-sizing and spacing designs, and using rulers and templates will open new design possibilities.  This class applies to all types of quilting - including hand quilting - and all types of machines.

Fills are creative design elements used to quilt the background and empty spaces of a primary quilting or block design. Elegant, whimsical, structured, or meandering - there is a style to compliment every space.   Learn to scale the fill design properly, how to evenly place and space fills, and how to “travel” from one to another.   Whether moving the machine or moving the fabric, the technique is the same.  Beginners to advanced quilters will enjoy and benefit from this class.
